How to find us

Our current meeting location is the Lions Center for the Blind, at the corner of Pitney Road and Crestview Avenue, in Absecon (near the Galloway border).

Directions to the Lions Center for the Blind

Soon we will be breaking ground on our very own building, on land just across from Stockton College, on Pomona Road in Galloway!

Lions Center for the Blind, Absecon

Here is what you should be looking for:

Our sign will be put out each Sunday on the corner of Pitney and Crestview:

From the east, coming from Absecon, Smithville, Route 9, White Horse Pike:
the Lions Center (white building) is easily visible, on your left.

From the west, coming from Galloway and the GSP Rest Area:
the back of the Lions Center is not very visible through the trees UNTIL YOU ARE RIGHT ON TOP OF IT!, on your right.

From the west then, look for the yellow "Playground" sign and the lime-yellow "Visually Impaired" sign beyond it, to know you are almost there.

DIRECTIONS:

From the Garden State Parkway (northbound or southbound):
(approx 4 miles, and 7 minutes)
Enter the Parkway Rest area that is located between Exits 40 and 44.
From the rest area, follow blue hospital signs to exit from between the northbound and southbound lanes -– and on the northbound side of the restaurant.
Turn right at the light at the end of the ramp. This is Jimmie Leeds Road.
Turn right at the third traffic light (where you'll see a Commerce Bank on your left), onto Pitney Road.
Proceed for about 2 miles. After a slight rise in the road, note the Absecon Manor Nursing Home on the left, and a playground sign with a seesaw symbol on the right. Also, on the left, there is a new housing development being built called “Visions”.
On your right you may now see the back and the side of a white building (or perhaps not; it is hidden by trees). This is it. Make a sharp right turn onto Crestview Ave just before the playground, and make the first right turn into the parking lot.

From Mays Landing, Route 40, and much of Egg Harbor Township:
Take Route 575, Wrangleboro Road, which becomes Pomona Rd. after it crosses Tilton Road.
At intersection of Route 30 (White Horse Pike) in Pomona, turn right.
Turn right onto the White Horse Pike (Rt. 30) from Pomona or Wrangleboro Road.
Continue for about 5 miles to the center of Absecon. After passing McDonalds, get into the right lane.
At the next light, immediately after crossing Route 9, turn right into the jughandle ramp to cross Route 30, and go north on Route 9.
In less than a mile there is a 5-point intersection.
Turn left onto Pitney (County Route 634). The Lions Center (white building with sign) will appear on your left in less than a mile.

From Shore Communities, Linwood, Northfield, Pleasantville:
Take Route 9 (New Road) northbound, through the intersection of Route 30 in Absecon, and follow the above.

From Philadelphia and AC Expressway eastbound:
Take Exit 12, and turn left onto Route 575, Wrangleboro Rd. Follow above instructions.

From Smithville and going south on US Route 9:
Turn right at the traffic light at Wyoming Ave in Absecon. At the second traffic light, turn right onto Pitney Rd.
In a few blocks you will pass the playground on your left, and see the white Lions Center for the Blind on your left.
